No Rest For The Wicked, Pandemic Journal

      While I have been lulled into semi hibernation with Christmas lights, darkness, and more turkey than most people on this planet have access to in a lifetime the news takes no holiday! The madness of King Trump continues it's stupid path into infamy, just as Dems and R's struck a deal to aid the millions of unemployed Trump comes out and says a $600 payment is not enough for the public and he wants $2000, it's nice and great and all but Mr Art of the Deal seems to know nothing about deal making, such as being present while deals are being struck. It came out of left field days after the deal was announced and a government shut down looms with the passing of this bill as well. Many, including me, believe Trump is mad at Mitch McConnell for accepting reality and acknowledging Bidens win, fine by me, go down attacking your own party, that makes sense. In the background of all this the Georgia Senate runoff elections will decide the fate of Senate control for the next 2 years! Win 2 seats and Biden can do as he pleases, lose one and Senate control remains in Republican hands and thus years of more gridlock and stupidity of getting nothing done! So ole Mitch is in a real pickle, will he press the Republican $600 deal or let his Senators vote for Trumps (and Democrat backed ) $2000 deal? And keep in mind the Georgia candidates are for Trumps plan, now throw in Bernie Sanders. Turns out Trump hates the new military budget, because he is on Russia's side? and threatened to veto the bill but the house members have voted enough to override his veto but Sanders is threatening to hold up this vote until the Covid relief bill is passed. I tell you American politics are more drama than a god damned soap opera! But wait there's more! Because the US system is so insane, they have to vote again to formalize the Electoral College in the Senate, it's been a dumb formality up until now as Trump thinks if he can get enough Republican Senators to reject the reality of the election they can overturn the actual vote and leave a vote for President to the Senate which he would win. It would be the end of the worlds oldest democracy and become the beginning of A Handmaids Tale, it's very scary how close the world is to the nuts taking over! There is one Senator who is already on board and maybe more to come. It probably won't happen this time but Trump has laid out a path to end democracy in the future, elect enough crazy people and this could easily happen! On a sad note a newly elected Republican congressman has died of Covid at the age of 41, he had a wife and two small kids, so sad, this should be the biggest story of the day but it's not! And I would like President Piece of Shit to say to his widow and kids that "Covid is a hoax" or "nothing more than the flu" also note that we have recently lost singer Charley Pride from Covid.

     As for the pandemic, on the eve of vaccinations comes a newer stronger more contagious mutation from the UK and of course it's already showed up in Ontario, BC and Alberta because self centered assholes cannot stay home for Christmas. I knew this would happen! As Canada tried to quickly close its borders the new strain was already here, surprise, surprise! As I walk the dog I often see the giant KLM flight right over my head, bringing people from Europe for I don't know what reason!?!?!? Stay the fuck home, Christmas is all BS anyway, there will be time enough to see people again. I find that people never really change and you can pick up where you left off like you've never been apart, don't people know this? I doubt it, people are so stupid these days! So we are up to 1,028 deaths in Alberta and over 15,000 in Canada, the US is over 300,000 so there's that! Kenney is at the bottom in a poll of pandemic handling at 30% approval among the Premiers, too funny! We had my mom over for Christmas, this is allowed according to the Provincial guidelines, and my biggest takeaway from her 86 year old mind is that "Kenney should find a partner, maybe he would be a nicer person" like Kenney being gay is something everyone knows and we're now using the word "partner" for gay relationships! Who knew we would ever get to this place with her???? There may be hope for the world yet!

     As for New Years Eve, tricks on you Covid! Turns out for maybe the last 20 years my New Years consists of watching CNN at home anyway! I don't have friends or go to parties anymore! LOL Most of the time we are lucky to be awake by midnight! The current thinking is that 2021 will automatically be better, as if 2020 was cursed, but the shit show will go on a little longer I'm afraid and the consequences of Christmas are yet to be seen. I'm not too happy with vaccine roll out plans, in Alberta the focus is rightly on essential workers, nurses and such but not EMS which is infuriatingly stupid! The next group is old people in long term care and I'm sorry but WTF!? Please give it to the people who work with them first we don't need to put these old folks ahead of others. I believe people who work in public, of all ages, should be vaccinated, then by risk and age, people who can work from home do not need it right away either. This province is also focusing on inoculating the First Nations first as well, my mom (longtime Kenney supporter) is not pleased with that and neither am I, I thought this place was about the economy? Not humanitarianism? Color me confused!

Well, I just learned that Dawn Wells, MaryAnn from Gilligan's Island died of Covid at age 82, that makes me so sad, we met her once in Calgary, I will tell you about that one day, what a sweet heart she was, I'm not usually sad about celebrities but this one really hits home!!!

Serious Shit, Pandemic Journal

      One week before Christmas, my mothers Birthday, she's 86 today, and a fair amount of things to do which is making me testy! My Dr. thinks now is the time to experiment with blood pressure drugs, yeah, over Christmas time, I am getting really tired of all the Muslim Dr's I have had over the years who seem to have no understanding of Western society, yes we drink, have gay sex, celebrate holidays without fasting, gawd, I'm looking for a new Dr. in the new year! Our friend and best client Orme passed away recently, from many many medical issues, he was one of the richest people in Saskatchewan they say, is having a virtual funeral today! God damn does it have to be today? Id like to do some baking today, who has time for this?

     Anyway, I don't know if it's the new drug I'm trying or the news making me so angry today but lets just cover some of the Trump shit show today.  Apparently there are thousands of doses of the new vaccine just sitting in storage because the Trump administration can't get it together, they have no excuse or reason for this but are "looking into it" says Alex Azar Sec. Health/Human Services. Yeah, BULL SHIT! I think we know that Trump is deliberately trying to fuck up the roll out of the vaccine because he is a petulant asshole man baby who probably has it out for the entire country right now. Another issue is the Russian hack, I mentioned it earlier but it is far worse than thought even a few days ago. Turns out they have been hacking since March into almost all US departments including Energy which is the nuclear bomb agency! We have also learned they have hacked into many US corporations and many more organizations in the West including those in Canada, people are calling this an act of 21st century war. Trump has nothing to say about this, busy with a golf club up his ass I guess? He is also busy blocking Biden from getting Pentagon updates during the transition. If it's not apparent that Trump is a complete traitor who actually hates America then the entire Republican party should all be exiled with him somewhere, Guantanamo Bay? Only Mitt Romney has the balls in his magic Mormon undergarments to say anything! If anyone ever deserved to be led to the guillotine in history it is Vladimir Putin, I hate this son of a bitch so much, I hope he gets everything he deserves when America comes back in the Biden years. I think NATO should take Crimea back, FREE CRIMEA! you deserve it Putin, the only thing that stops these shameless assholes is to neuter them, kick em in the proverbial balls and those balls are Crimea in this situation. Another stupid thing going on in the US is aid for the population during covid. Aid is set to expire at the end of this month, people will be evicted and have no unemployment benefits because this is how they deal with people, well Republicans anyway, they are soooo close to a deal, it's insanity to those of us who live in normal countries! Like Trump I believe all the Trumplicans (Republicans who follow Trump) are guilty of criminal negligence, on the virus, on hacking, on destroying democracy, on all of the stupid shit they did supporting this wanna be despot!

We also see today Pence and his beard, I mean wife, getting the vaccine, really? I can see the VP getting it but why on earth does his fat bitch of a wife need one for? To keep spreading homophobia in her Christian school? Give me a fucking break! How much do you wanna bet vaccines in America will be directed to Congress and the super rich before people who actually need it, especially blacks and latinos? I'd bet the farm if I had one!

How's it going in Alberta? Shiiit all the government dorks are standing around taking credit for the vaccine of course, that Trudeau approved. Yesterday we had a record death toll of 19 in this Province, and it's all due to bad government just like the US, India, Russia and Brazil, consider the similarities.

Christmas, Get Over It!!!

      People around here were getting ready for Christmas back in November, the millennials who have taken over my neighbourhood are apparently really into the holiday this year! My other neighbours who I get to observe like a zoo exhibit of "Straight White North American Homo Sapien" because of our window proximity, began watching Christmas movies, women's fantasy type romantic dramas where the girl always gets the impossibly handsome and perfect man, around November 1st! Then I would see some Christmas decor going up, then the outside lights, and I would say to Gord "I think a Christmas tree is going to be born soon." and sure enough a few weeks later I was right! Even my other neighbours who I consider much more normal in most ways put up their tree in late November! Sheesh, I don't like Christmas that much, I don't want all that stuff around for a god damned month! To me Christmas is sentimental, I enjoy the foods, the lights and the music for a very short period but the actual meaning of it, the religious part, is about as important to me as the Myth of Osiris or Zeus, interesting and pretty weird mythology. During this pandemic lockdown a lot of young people feel like they are missing out, we already saw them going nuts for American Thanksgiving earlier, this generation needs their parents and other people to share all their dumb existence with. They need to be at home with their parents so they can stare at a phone for 20 hours a day! I think they are nuts and need to get the fuck over it! There will be more Christmases and fun times in the future, let me tell you about my worst Christmas ever you young whippersnappers.

     By the year 1987 I was 19 and living on my own because I was disowned for being gay, this means no contact with your parents and I feel I have to stress that because many young people don't seem to get this point. I had already met Gord my life-partner in the summer and he was attending college out of town 50 miles away and I was living with a nuts lesbian couple and a self proclaimed witch/fortune teller in their basement suite storage closet in the Beltline area, hey we all have to start somewhere! My friend Triste somehow got me a temporary Christmas job at the Body Shop in TD Square where I made gift baskets and totally sucked at shipping/receiving in the back room, sometimes I got to help in the store too! I tell you downtown at Christmas time is a magical time, the decorations, the hustle and bustle, the prettiness of historic 8th Avenue, it was fun, my favourite job in so many ways. Christmas Eve in retail is also just too magical, it's like the last day of school and we all get to look forward to at least one day off! Most of that day was probably just screwing around and I remember we were all invited to indulge in refreshments by the TD Square Corp. which meant going to some strange storage area of the building where you could have a drink with some maintenance guys. I was far too young and too gay to be hanging out with some middle aged janitors but I do remember looking out the window to see it was snowing and heavily! Many times in Calgary it snows heavily and magically right around Christmas even Christmas Eve, it's so god damned magical you could just shit! By the time our day was over we walked home in all that fresh new snow, it had been dry and bare up until then all November and December, so beautiful. 

At some point I made plans with my other friend, Lori, to go to her relatives out in the mountains for Christmas dinner as I was going to be alone, disowned, orphaned by my real parents. Loris parents were always so nice to me thru High School, I spent many days and nights at their house, they were like my second parents. I wasn't really thinking about what the reality of a disowned Christmas would really be like, I don't recall specific details because this is so bloody long ago now but I do remember the feelings. Gord was off to his parents in Saskatchewan so I didn't have my new boyfriend and love of my life around. What I mostly remember is the uncomfortable couch in that basement suite I was sitting on as everyone slipped away to do holiday things with their families, first the lesbians were off, Deanne was the nicer one and Shauna was a nightmare of a human being, so many issues, not missed by me on this day, she later became straight and hated all of us and we never saw her again after 1989. I was thinking oh right, people have families, I forgot. I remember talking to our other roommate Erica who was a pretty good palm reader/psychic, sitting together on that terrible couch, she was always nice but like so many young people in the 80's had a hard edge under that sideways mohawk and intense scrolling eye makeup, she had to go to her family later too. Really no one was going to go out of their way to help me thru this lonely void. Mostly I just remember sitting alone on that couch, I don't think I watched TV, did we even have one? Did I listen to Depeche Mode or something? I don't know, I do remember the song Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas from this time, it still reminds me of this time of my life. I remember phoning Lori to ask when are you picking me up? Oh later, was the reply. I was hurt, I thought I could go over for more of the day, they didn't show up until almost 3, it was almost dark. We drove to a small cabin in the foothills where some relative of theirs was hosting Christmas dinner, it was nice, weird, not my family but fun anyway. Lori had already prepared me with a lie, she was always lying, it's what she does, if anyone asks about my parents just say they are in Arizona, which I did, probably not convincingly! This was not my favourite Christmas! Mostly I felt alone and betrayed by most of the people I knew and understanding that people are more self centered than we ever want to believe at that age, I wasn't really that important to other people. Hard lessons, I guess Dolly Parton would call it a hard candy Christmas!? The next year I was in Art College and Gord and I lived in a cute apartment in an old house which was probably one of the best Christmases ever and I would never be alone for Christmas to this day. The point? You'll get over it. It is important to go thru things like this, this was character building! Every moment of our lives is not perfect in fact it is often fraught with harrowing bull shit. The young people of today drive me nuts, they are such whiney babies to me, they want to be with their parents way too often which I find bizarre! Go, make your lives, build experiences of your own, there will be plenty of Christmases in the future! God, we have had 32 Christmases since then, most of them I could barely remember now, what gifts were given, what dinners consumed, drinks drunk? I tell you young folks, in 2050, you may look back on this year with scattered memories but you will have better ones, so many better ones to look forward to, one bad year will be forgotten easily. Consider it character building, it's what life is made of.

     

Twas the Week Before Christmas, Pandemic Journal

     Its about a week or so before Christmas, the first two weeks of December were in the 10 to 15C range making it one of the longest double digit spells for December, I kept saying to Gord in my best Mr.Hankey voice that "It sure doesn't feel like Christmas around here." December 6th I wore shorts and a T-shirt to walk the dog and later hung out with the neighbours on their front lawn as they were having a socially distant gathering with some people they know, some drivers were really glaring as they passed and the next day Kenney announced new restrictions, guess it was this gathering? The millennials are so funny to me, later my quite drunk neighbour was telling me how much he "needed" the social interaction, geeze, life must be hard for the young!?

     It's quite nuts that a few weeks prior Kenney was shirking new restrictions and then suddenly abouts-face and introduces a bunch of new restrictions which don't really have any teeth, so the impression of restrictions without really doing much. It's stupid but apparently so are most Albertans! Indoor dining is cancelled, gatherings of more than 10 people outside are not allowed and everyone who can is supposed to be working from home, so lets see how that goes! The death rate is escalating wildly, 10 or so everyday, we are now up to 744 and Global News and CTV (CFCN) do their very best to bury these numbers as they fumble thru reading numbers and throwing out confusing visuals of numbers that are different everyday, I can't follow their graphics and numbers how can my octogenarian mom!? Some stupid facts from a stupid population; we need to have 70% or more get a vaccine to attain herd immunity and Alberta has the lowest rate of immunization willing folks at only 66%  and Kenney will change the Health Code to remove mandatory vaccination! It makes me so furious, I just can't believe how stupid and ideological this little prick is, I guess it shouldn't surprise me? And then they go around saying that everyone else is being ideological, it's so Trumpian! Fuck! I just want to say that getting over Covid is linked to the economy stupid!!!! How are we going to recover with these idiots at the helm? And if Albertans are going to act like stupid Americans then fuck you all too! I tell you one day I will leave this stupid place!

     What's going on in the last episodes of the Trump show? This week AG Bill Barr is either fired or resigning, some people calling his letter a hostage statement, and just what is Trump up to? Probably trying to enshrine an investigation into Hunter Biden that the incoming AG will not be able to stop. We have seen this before from nutcase Republicans with Benghazi, stupid nonsense that was a waste of time and money and this Hunter Biden thing will be the same. Trump thinks he will get revenge, whatever turd, fuck the fuck off! I firmly believe Trump may not be with us in 4 years, he strikes me as the kind of guy who would die on Christmas day! You know Trump famously does not eat most of the day going over 14 hours and then likes to chow down on two Big Macs and a Fillet-o-Fish with small chocolate shake eaten within 5 minutes! Ever see Jordan Klepper try to eat this and do his monolouge within 5 minutes? It's inhuman! Big news yesterday is that Republican Senate leader Mitch McConnell congratulated Biden and Harris after the electoral college did their job and voted but unfortunate for the little turtle man is that Vladimir Putin beat him to the punch that day, what a fucked up world! There was much drama and stupid nonsense with Republicans threatening violence and trying to crash the electoral college voting places, some were moved to secret locations. It just looks like a nuts shit show and embarrassment for the "world's leading democracy", these dwindling days of Trump cannot go fast enough! This week also saw a Russian hack of several US departments including Treasury and the Pentagon, I guess under Trump they better do what they can before normalcy comes back! The Russians make me so mad, I would be totally for NATO taking back Crimea, FREE CRIMEA!!!! and or some real consequences, getting kicked out of whatever international bodies they belong to, seize foreign assets, outlawing their currency! Fuck you Putin America is coming back! The best way to sum up this time period is by listening to former McCain campaign head Steve Schmidt "there is now one pro-democracy party in America and one that is for dictatorship" it's true I don't know what the hell Republicans are still thinking getting behind this personality cult that is Trump but they will find themselves on the wrong side of history soon! Lesser countries would have traitors shot at dawn! In a moment of "holy shit the monster is destroying the lab now" we find out that Jared and Ivanka have bought a 300 million$ property in Florida and she may be planning a Senate run in 22 against guess who......? Marco Rubio! LOL she is going to primary him and I just wonder how the Republican powers that be think about this??? How far will they let these Trump people go? I don't even believe the Trumps will survive legally for very long and may find themselves living in Saudi Arabia soon! We'll see!

     Since the first of the vaccines are rolling out we are being treated to multiple first vaccines footage, so boring you will be reaching for that remote control faster than a greased goose in a hen house! First in the Western world was old people in the UK, save the old! Turned out that Canada got the vaccine the same day as the US so much more footage of all that, over here we are vaccinating nurses/essential workers and old people later. So I guess all that hot air in Parliament from Conservatives was just that? Yeah, thought so. I don't know, I kinda wish the pandemic would linger a little longer, I don't think anyone has learned their lesson, especially Americans. I don't really support giving most Americans the vaccine at all, maybe we would all be better off ? Less racist idiots, Trump cultists, gun loving, bible thumping, loud mouthed dickheads, sounds good to me, besides they never learn their lessons, be it the crash of 08, 9/11, Vietnam, all of it, they just get terrible consequences and then get right back to it a few years later. I'm going to miss the lockdown, it makes no difference to my life, I am an artist and longtime loner I don't need to be running around like a god damned teenager all my life! I already have a small social circle and hate leaving my house for fun. If we just go back to everything we were doing before then we haven't learned anything and are doomed to repeat it. There will be Pandemics in the future if we don't change our ways.

Surge Upon Surge, Pandemic Journal

      The pandemic gets worse every day, Dr. Fauci in the US is warning of a surge upon a surge after this Thanksgiving that saw millions flying and driving home, myself I would love an excuse like this to avoid a family gathering but people are so goofy these days! Alberta continues to see huge increases in cases, mostly due to bad governing. So, in the middle of a pandemic and with vaccines on the horizon Kenney says that he will change the health code so there will no longer be mandatory vaccination! It's another pull your hair out scream into a pillow situation once again with this little shit. Kenney also made some racially charged comments about the SE Asian community saying that they have too many big family gatherings, guess he never saw the Waltons??? Everyone should know now that Kenney is just a mini Trump, with an emphasis on mini, I'm so mean, sorry. And what was the fallout of those secret recordings? Nothing. Our media does not care, Global News chose to focus on the who of the secret recordings and not the content of those recordings, CTV a little less biased but in both cases this story disappeared where in most cases we have to see the same reports 2 or three times more. I swear I saw a story about the ferret society of Alberta 4 times in a week when I moved back here 20 years ago and this is the way it is with most stories in the media, thank goodness for PVR's! The axing of mandatory vaccines is what really gets me mad, the irony of this little prick hiding behind Pierre Trudeau's Charter of Rights and Freedoms is nauseating as well his (and many on the right) claims to personal liberty and freedom. Well my dears you should remember what country we live in! Canada does not have a Bill of Rights as many dip shits out there seem to believe, yes we have all the liberties of normal democracies but our Charter is more focused on minority rights, aboriginals rights, the rights of groups of people rather than US style individual rights, it's not our focus, never has been. I have had arguments with online Americans who think Canada is not actually free because we aren't allowed to spread hate, I just say what the fuck is wrong with you people?, if you need to spread hate or incite violence to minority groups then I am glad and proud we do not allow this in Canada and consider it a crime not a personal liberty issue! Sheesh! Same with vaccines, you do not get to decide, you are probably not a virologist or even have grade 12 biology, so why do these people think they know better? We need to have herd immunity because there are people like babies or on chemo who cannot have vaccines. This is how we stopped so many diseases before, but most people weren't around for polio, rubella, small pox. What is most concerning to me is all the anti-maskers in this city, it looks like hundreds as they protest outside City Hall this weekend, among the largest protests we have ever seen in Calgary! I used to think we weren't so stupid in this city but now I have to wonder if the person next to me is some anti science nut. So we've got that happening and we also have a bunch of kids out of school now. We recently saw footage of throngs of teens crowding Chinook Centre, mobs of black kids getting into fights (just an observation) wearing masks but really you know these little fuckers are just there to hang out they have no actual business there and should be all kicked out. It is fine to go out with a mask, get what you need and go home, we are not at a place where we should be indoors with literally hundreds of breathing humans, this is why we have such high cases. Kenney did not want to shutdown before Black Friday and security cannot kick out all these black teens because it will become a Black Lives Matter shit show so here we are. Albertans gots ta shop!

     American news is pretty boring these days, Trump remains largely silent, Biden releases different staffing picks, lots of women, black women, women of colour. A mysterious assassination of Iran's top nuclear scientist smack of the dirty work of Israel and Trump, Iran is vowing revenge and I hope it is the Trump family in their sights, don't hurt innocent Israelis' or anyone else. All pundits eyes are on the 2 runoff elections in Georgia, right now it seems contradictory for Republicans to say vote for us the system is rigged! Why would people vote in a rigged election? It's weird and difficult messaging for an election. I guess the overall issues are that trump is trying to make the world a total shit show for when Biden takes over, it's disgusting, undemocratic, evil and just plain shitty, no President has ever behaved like this before and I hope they throw the book at this asshole when his term is up!

     Vaccines are just around the corner and the big issue in Canada is when will we get them!? We do not manufacture them so are not first in line and 3-2-1 queue Conservative outrage, because this situation would be different if they were in charge???? Give me a fucking break (something I seem to be saying on a regular basis these days)! I think it's disgusting that the Americans get the vaccine first, a country that recently pulled out of the WHO and would like to pull out of every worldwide organization too, also a country that did not contribute one god damned dime to the world wide effort for a vaccine! I think we should either vote on who gets vaccines first and or hold a lottery! If Canada is on the B list where are the poor countries? What list is sub-Saharan Africa on for example? The billions who live in poverty in this world? They can just hold out because American idiots need to resume going to Paris, going to the beach, going to the mall, watching shitty superhero movies in theatres? Geeze, was the before-world any better? No wonder nature tried to kill us!

The 500 Club, A Pandemic Journal

      As of yesterday Alberta reached the milestone of 500 deaths due to covid and it would seem this is all due to the Kenney government. States of Emergency have been formally declared Provincewide and in Calgary as well. The only new restrictions and actions are closing schools early and opening one week later in January, some capacity restrictions on stores some capacity restrictions on churches but only in the larger centres, so basically nothing really, mask requirements in Calgary and Edmonton but we already have these in place! The whole thing is giant smoke and mirrors show as no Provincial mask mandate has been issued because Kenney is too scared of the rural backlash and too mired in ideology himself. Kenney himself has said "we cannot be led by dangerous ideology" like what science? public health? I have said from the very beginning that this little twerp is dangerously ideological, in fact his ideology and practices in this pandemic are more similar to Republican governors like Rick Desantis of Florida and even Trump himself, more worried about economic damage (and thus political damage) than human lives. In fact we are just learning today about secret recordings where we can hear Health Minister Tyler Shandro and other conservatives pressuring the Public Health authorities in ways that are "combative and not collaborative", in other words Kenney was more worried about the economy than the public health. The CBC article where I first read this also accused Kenney of hiding behind Deena Hinshaw when he didn't want to appear too tough on restrictions. It's nuts, this guy and conservatives in general are such fucking idiots, overruling the experts and micromanaging Dr. Hinshaw herself and this is where we are folks! At an average of around 1,500 cases a day we are close to matching Ontario and Quebec who have populations 3 or 4 times that of Alberta. I just think well, it's likely your voting base Kenney, reap those rewards. The only unfortunate thing is that our next election is almost 2 years from now. Kenney is an anti-masker in the mold of so many Republicans. OK so just now listening to the live comments of Hinshaw who is saying the recordings are a betrayal of the "safe space" between the government and public servants, she is taking Kenneys side in a way, and I just want to scream into a pillow as these non-political idiots have no idea! They are Dr.s not pundits they have no concept of politics and really most of the time are total doorknobs, Gord's sister is a former public health official like this, such a Polyanna and enabler of the bad behaviour of her husband and father, these people are not schooled in the humanities or history, they have no clue about the world and the intentions of ambitious little men. Meanwhile in the good ol' USA Trump continues to hide, other than pardoning the turkeys named Cob and Corn and of course Michael Flynn this week! He also appeared for a 30 second speech to tout how great the stock market was and how it was all due to him but in actuality was in reaction to the formal signing of the GSA form that gives Biden the money and access to transition. The US is seeing around a million cases every week and is right on track for total disaster by Christmas. People are flying and driving all over for Thanksgiving, it's a disaster in the making!

We're Number One!!! A Pandemic Journal

      Well we did it Alberta, we have the highest cases in the country!!!!!!! Over the past 4 days we have had 5,180 cases, each day beating a new record! 1105 Thursday, 1155 Friday, 1336 Saturday and 1584 Sunday beating Ontario and Quebec who have 3.5 times the population. How did we get here? Bad government, just like all the jurisdictions led by despotic idiots in the US, Russia and Brazil, it's a theme we find emerging again and again. We are the only Province to not have mandatory mask measures as the Kenney government is scared the rural people will hate him for it. Calgary and Edmonton and some of the other cities put in mask mandates and by-laws back in the summer but this is apparently not working. I believe Kenney is such a Republican follower that he is likely imitating their route with the virus and we have seen how their approach is working terribly in the upper midwest for example. Kenney has been missing in action for quite a few weeks and was roundly criticized this weekend for being the only Premier to not make an appearance or public statement, instead hiding behind the milquetoast Deena Hinshaw, Alberta's top official on the virus. Do I trust these health spokespeople? On the science yes but on the politics no, can these dry medical people resist the political shenanigan's of Conservative politicians, I doubt it. There should probably be a new lockdown but it's not up to Hinshaw to call that. We need to shut down or the death rate at Christmas is going to be nuts! I wish we were having an election but that is 2 years away, who knows what will be the hot issue by then. My neighbours are all back to working from home now because god knows we need to preserve our lawyers and geologists! I was thinking schools should be shut down soon but more importantly they should be delayed after the holidays and everyone should get tested before returning and this seems like more of a plan than we heard from our Provincial government!      The US continues down a deadly path, President not resigning and Thanksgiving week starting. Today we are seeing the footage of college kids flying home, 3 million flights today! Americans are generally bad enough at thinking about the public good now lets add 20 somethings to this equation and see how that goes, they say things like "this year has been so bad this is the only thing I have to look forward to" or "I want to go home and hug my parents" yes, so does the virus my dears!!!!! Such idiocy, the death rate will be hitting this Christmas, will they learn then? Probably not. All of the misinformation about the election is starting to hit, a couple of weeks ago 70% of Republicans thought Biden won this fair and square now 70% of them think it has been stolen! Even people around the world are starting to think this election was stolen or unfair no doubt spread by god damned Russians, gawd! I had to watch the Rudy Giuliani press conference held at the RNC office because we started hearing how incredibly nuts it was and it was! This legal team purported that voting machines were made in Venezuela and rigged by Hugo Chavez himself (who died in 2013) and that millions of votes for Trump were switched to Biden and then the spray on hair dye started running down both cheeks of Giuliani in a total shit show of insanity and still Republicans will not drop this shit! I would like to know where in the Constitution it says that the Majority Leader of the Senate gets to decide when transition begins? America looks like a bananas Republic right now.  I did make the connection that we have reached almost all fictional parallels of the movie Contagion now with the President disappearing. I remember writing earlier in this journal that we should be so lucky to have the President disappear and it has finally happened, he tweets nonsense every day but is golfing all the time and not making any public statements. I think twitter should close his account and if he has something to say come to a podium and say it, what a fucking little bitch coward! Such a giant fucking baby! All this as covid in the US also breaks records everyday, will these knuckleheads ever learn??? The best news I heard recently is that all this election tampering by the President and individual electors and even the nuts bitch at the GSA could be breaking federal laws by interfering in the vote, turns out all this stuff is against many federal statutes and they could all be charged with several offences!

Suckers And Losers, A Pandemic Journal

      2 weeks after the US election finds many of us infuriated, Trump refuses to step down, covid is raging, Biden seems tepid, we want him to take some action, waiting 70 days or whatever the fuck it is for the inauguration is torture! Trump is trying every means possible to steal this election, fortunately his dip shit legal team lead by Giuliani is achieving nothing and is apparently today so "bonkers and bananas" that the networks won't air his presser, their words not mine. The theory that Trump is doing this to raise money for his 2024 Presidential bid makes a lot of sense or at least raise money for his very expensive habits in general. Before the election we learned Trump called service members "suckers and losers", he has no concept of  non transactional relationships or motives and also asked why would people serve their country? why would America help allies? even "who were the good guys in WWII" all credibly sourced and even reported on FOX news at the time. I'm afraid this is what he thinks of everyone who is probably not his immediate family. We know that Trump sent out no less than 200 fundraising emails during the last 2 weeks of this not giving up which makes all of his supporters suckers and losers, if Republican voters weren't such dotards they might read the fine print that only a small portion of their donation would actually go toward any 2024 campaign, like 5% and I'm sure Trump would find a way to take that portion too! Every single person going along with this asshole is a sucker and loser, covid is reaching such overwhelming dimensions that even 87 year old Republican Senator Chuck Grassley came down with a case stalling any further passing of conservative judges, it's all the Senate is doing in this period. I hope a bunch of them die, clear the place out, most of these old coots have no business in government anymore, retire, have a nice life, sheesh! I just read a part of my last post where I was hopeful republican whoever from Oklahoma would press for transition, it was a lie, it was rescinded later that day, see a Republicans' word is shit and should be trusted by no one ever. I guess I was a sucker and loser for believing this fucker for one second!? Beside covid running so rampant it is killing 1,000 Americans a day Trump is also pulling troops from Afghanistan effective 5 days before inauguration, even old Mitch McConnell is against it, it will embolden the Taliban endanger whatever allies are left there (an internet search comes up with nothing on what actual troops from what countries are still there but I will guess Australians as they have always sucked that American cock) and cause chaos which I'm sure is his main goal. It's just infuriating to comprehend the damage this one angry rich asshole can wreak on world order right now.

     Today we are learning that Trump is personally calling electoral college members and holding a White House meeting with Michigan electors in a bid to sway electoral college voters, it's just so slimey and beyond the pale for a normal democratic country to behave this way! How can we ever trust Americans ever again? But wouldn't China and Russia love that? Gawd this is infuriating!!!!

     We have been learning about so many weird and small administrative positions that hold a lot of power yet in normal times are never heard from, one such position is the GSA the Government Service Agency. The GSA is a administrative job and their job is to sign the transition papers so the incoming government can have access to money and space to transition. Right now the GSA is held by some Trump appointee, an obese middle aged woman who looks like any Cathy from any office anywhere, someone who handles your car insurance and watches Police dramas and Lifetime Christmas movies in her off times. I was really mad at this character for a while as she cited the 2000 election as some kind of precedent but now I feel it unfair for such a dupe to take heat for the asshole in chief and all the other Republicans who refuse to concede. One of them is the HHS Secretary, hiding behind this woman and the small technicality of signing the transition papers, he could meet with the Biden team on covid related matters if he wanted to but they don't, they don't care if Americans die which makes all of you suckers and losers for letting this bull shit go one one more minute! People are getting angry all over the media which must echo the populace I just wonder if something is going to snap soon? I am furious and I don't even live there what is it like for actual Americans?

    So all of this pissing and moaning about the election being stolen by Trump is really having an effect on Republican voters now over half of them believe the election was stolen so it works because Trump knows there is one born every minute.

     I know that Americans love Thanksgiving the most, more than Christmas and the 4th of July and I believe most of them will ignore reality and science and spread and get covid more than any other time of year, the real kicker will come as the death rate follows usually 3 to 4 weeks later which should be right around Christmas! Will they learn then? probably not. No one is even talking about Black Friday yet, obviously this stupid tradition should not even be entertained as an idea right now but lets see how smart Americans are, I'm willing to take bets right now! lol

Republicans Drowning In Hypocrisy, A Pandemic Journal

      So 9 days after the US election Trump still has not conceded nor will cooperate with any of the norms and traditions of transition in the worlds oldest and most important democracy. In fact the giant man-baby "president" has gone into hiding and as Sarah Haines pointed out on the View recently he has spent more time in hiding than when he had corona and was supposed to be in quarantine! It makes for a strange news cycle as we are missing the daily deluge of total bullshit statements from president bleach drinker, I didn't even watch the full round of political shows that I usually do last night because there is not much happening. Today we have one of the Republican Senators from Oklahoma saying that he will take on getting Biden the Security clearance that is needed in a transition period, remember when transition was fucked up during the 2000 debacle then 9/11 happened? Yeah, it's a recommendation from the 9/11 commission that incoming Presidents be briefed ASAP on security issues. Remember when Republicans used to be all about National Security????? Ahhh those were the days, where are those guys, oh what? most of them are still in the Senate you say? Well that is the first of many little hypocrisy's with these jerks want a few more????

     We have seen many old clips of outgoing and incoming presidents, pleasant exchanges between bitter partisan rivals, Bush/Clinton, Bush/Obama, Obama/Trump all occurring at the same time after the election that we are at now at the White House because normal people used to know that the transfer of power is about governing not politics! Obama welcomed Trump to the White House knowing full well there was controversy circling about Russian interference and Trumps weak claim to the presidency in a technical but not popular mandate. And what is this asshole doing for Biden? Nothing. Hiding, tweeting, probably rage eating and breaking the Golden Rule which is DO UNTO OTHERS AS YOU WOULD HAVE OTHERS DO UNTO YOU but what do you expect from this satanic piece of shit? Same for the majority of Republicans who are so afraid of losing the Trump base they are also holding up this transfer and thus endangering America and maybe her allies too, who knows???? They are all total hypocrite assholes, McConnell posing with newly elected Republicans because they can trust those election results but not the Democrat ones? Or my favourite, Ivanka Trump tweeting gleefully that they had won the senate seat in Alaska right after the Trump side was arguing that the "media does not declare election winners" doh! Stupid hypocrisy once again! The most delicious part of all of this is the public machinations about Trumps feelings, he's not ready to accept, we have to ease him into reality etc. are you fucking kidding me!?!??!?! These are the same people who would call anyone a snowflake when we lamented Hillary's loss or were scared about what this buffoon was going to do. Give me a fucking break!!!! My point is that Republicans loved the war in Iraq, if anyone questioned it they were labelled treasonous, and then there was all the love for the troops, it was all about the troops all the time, I remember it well. Enter Trump who called Iraq a "stupid war" and those serving "suckers and losers" so please how the hell can Republicans go around defending this asshole? In a nutshell I am saying Republicans backed the war like fanatics until Trump came along and then they didn't want any more wars at all. It would seem Republicans in general were for the war before they were against it! I just don't understand it as a political party anymore, they don't make any sense, all they want is power which is the complete opposite of all the spreading democracy around the world stuff they used to talk about. It seems more like they are suffering an identity crisis at the least and a credibility crisis at worst. I looked up recently the winning margins of Presidents and some pundits have also pointed out that Republicans have lost the popular vote since Clinton in 92 so if democracy does not work for you then attack democracy I guess? And this is what they have been busily doing, undoing the Voting Rights Act of 1965, creating obstacles for voting, voter ID laws, limiting early voting, even getting rid of Pews to the Polls because too many black people vote that way. It's despicable and no that is not something to be proud of you Trump voting ingrates! When democracy is against you attack democracy, this is what the Republican party line truly is!

     Saturday we were "treated" to another post election appearance of the comedian Dave Chappelle on Saturday Night Live, many people call him a genius, I think he's a not funny asshole. I remember his SNL appearance after Hillary lost it was quite off-putting for me I thought his attitude was something like you can't trust stupid white people and all of you brought this on yourself because you are stupid white people, am I supposed to think that is funny insight? George Carlin had insight, you sir do not. There is also his use of "nigger" as in black people who are stupid are niggers to this guy, he said it several times, sorry I do not find this funny. The n-word was pulled out of extinction by rappers in the 1990's and came into use probably in the early 2000's, my generation never used the word I thought we would never hear it again until black people started using it in the US. It's sooooo 20 years ago, is it really funny? Really? Anyway this year he did some really long intro, smoking (who the fuck smokes?) lambasting the audience for "being too woke to laugh" how about being in total fucking shellshock after this stupid election to laugh??? Or maybe you're just not funny dude? Near the end he said remember how bad we all felt last time and think about how bad the Trump people feel today. Yeah, go fuck yerself! There is feeling bad your political side lost but when Trump came to power it was more than just aww shucks we'll get 'cha next time, no, people had very serious concerns they would be affected by terrible policy and were justified in being scared. Look what Trump did to so many minorities, banning some (but not all) Muslim immigrants, removing the right for trans people to serve in the military, separating families (babies too) at the border possibly forever, attacking in general women's and minority rights, encouraging nazis and white supremacists, getting rid of environmental rules and regulations, trying to dismantle the Affordable Care Act in the middle of a Pandemic! and finally fucking up the covid response so much that Dr's Without Borders may have to enter the US like so many "shithole" countries.  In contrast a Biden win will not take away rights of Trump people or effect their lives in any negative way except for their stupid sensibilities. So I'm sorry rich black man who thinks he is smarter than everyone else, like smoking won't kill you as it has so many before, I don't like your capitulation and white wash of the worst 4 years in  living American history.      As for the pandemic it's escalating off the charts everywhere. In El Paso there is such a surge in cases and deaths that they had to bring in freight trucks to hold the bodies. All over the US the pandemic is causing chaos in hospitals and it's not even winter yet. Alberta and Manitoba are out of control right now and aside from whatever social conditions are causing a surge I wonder if it is the return of winter causing this? While we watch Americans party in the streets in boob-tubes and shorts with Bidens win we were having a blizzard by then, winter is set in here and our rates are going nuts, of course it does not help we have Kenney a wanna-be Republican who is very hesitant to close businesses again, all these conservatives are cagey about closing the economy, rich people can stay in quarantine poor people can risk their lives serving them I guess, that's how they roll folks! I just shudder to think how the US will get thru Thanksgiving, their favourite holiday, and also thru Christmas. Christmas is going to be a hard one for everyone I think, people love stupid traditions and it will kill us I am sure! I just don't know how the US is going to survive the next few months with President in hiding, too scared and hurt to do anything of worth, all he does is worry about his own feelings, well you Trump voters deserve it but the rest of you don't and then there is the world economy, again, the last time we had a Republican in office the world economy crashed too, will Americans ever notice this little pattern???

     We are still getting news about who got covid at the Presidents election night party, today it's Cory Lewandowski but earlier this week we heard Ben Carson got it as well as the Chief of Staff Mark Meadows, all because of stupidity, they all deserve it and I hope it's serious, sorry. They don't care about the public so no one should care about them. Maybe we'll be having some openings in the Senate sooner than thought? We can only hope!

America Votes, A Pandemic Journal

     Well only 4 days after the election we have a winner and it's Joe Biden! Everything is just stupider and takes longer in this pandemic. Election night was a little startling to begin with, the wave of anti-Trump sentiment did not really play out in fact it may have made even stupider people vote for him. We all went to bed that night knowing Biden had won the "Blue Wall" the Great Lake states of Wisconsin, Michigan and Minnesota and may have flipped Georgia and Arizona and Nevada would take forever to count, Biden was stuck at 253 and Trump 213 electoral votes, this would go on the rest of the week until the Keystone state Pennsylvania could count, truly with 20 electoral votes this was key in any presidential bid, Trump won it in 16. Turns out most Democrat voters were scared of covid and voted by mail and absentee methods which many states count last because America is full of stupid rules and conventions. Trump was telling all his voters to vote in person knowing many of those votes would be counted first making him look like he had the lead and in his not secret plan would claim victory on Tuesday night and hopefully stop the counting. It didn't work out that way. The media refused to declare a winner and everyday we would wait for more count to come in from especially PA but also AZ and NV as Trump could sweep all the remaining states including GA and win but no one really believed that would happen. I remember James Carville saying in his delightful Louisiana accent democrats would handily win PA and probably AZ too, he was right! (although we are still counting AZ now) The weather here was really warm all week so instead of watching the same news about micro vote counting I could get out and do some fall garden projects, most nights were spent drinking and half watching MSNBC for any breaking news. It was like the slowest 4 days in Earth history, Wednesday morning I was pretty upset so many people voted for Trump and Democrats lost some seats in Congress and did not flip the seats of the evil Mitch McConnel and Trump cocksucker Ms Lindsay Graham, as time wore on slowly the news became more hopeful Biden would win. Wednesday, Thursday, maybe Friday night we would have a result!?!?! Nope! Finally Saturday came and as I lay in bed thinking should I get up and check the news I could hear all our phones chiming which I took as good news, it was news alerts of course and the news was good!!!! It was around 930am here when I turned on the TV to people celebrating in the streets all over America, it had been finally decided for Biden, Ding Dong the fucking old wicked bastard witch is dead! or at least his stupid presidency is! To pass the time on Tuesday night I was planning on making some kind of sign for when Trump was declared the loser, I made, out of paper, letters that spelled out "Hallelujah Bigly" and eventually had to tape them to my front window as we were experiencing a blizzard by Saturday. Let me just say that hallelujah is such a stupidly long word filled with Ls, luckily cutting the letter L is pretty easy and there are 4 of them in this phrase. I also have a squishable Trump head which I posed with a hammer crushing it ready to text to all my friends and family. Most reactions to my creativity were kinda meh, people just don't like funny things anymore I guess, my sister in BC didn't even know "Bigly" was a famous Trumpism, what a dummy, who doesn't know that!?!?! She said I haven't been paying attention to news for the past few months, the past few months? This became a thing when Trump first came in 4 years ago and has been made fun of ever since. This is why I have so much trepidation moving to BC, so much insular know-nothingness among the population.

     Surpise, surprise Trump is refusing to concede! Who knew? Everyone maybe? It's a disgrace to democracy and America herself but we don't expect anything less from President dip shit! In what I think is the most comedic and fittingly stupid end to this stupid administration Giulliani the presidents "lawyer" tweeted he would be making a statement at the 4 Seasons Philadelphia turned out he meant the 4 Seasons Landscaping company located in some industrial area in Philly between a Crematorium and a Sex Shop called Fantasy Island where he proceeded to rant about nuts conspiracy theories in front of a garage door with Trump election signs taped on it. Truly a nuts, stupid, and fitting end to this pathetic sinking ship.

     Breaking news today is that a vaccine looks promising sending the stock market up, Trump fires Secretry of Defence Mark Esper because he supported renaming bases and or Trump is planning a military coup, we'll see, he's been mostly silent and angrily golfing all weekend. There are still, of course, Trump followers trying to cause trouble and protesting all over, when reporters ask them questions they have no answers, my favourite is the young guy complaining about counting mail in ballots, the reporter says Trump asked his supporters to vote in person and those have been counted, he has no answer. Some Republicans like Lindsay Graham are resisting but this is a losing battle, even George W. Bush is telling people to accept the vote, at this point resisting math is futile!

Just watching right now Obama holding a rally where people sit in their cars and listen and honk, it's the hot new thing these days! Too funny and so is the election right now! The US election is the only thing keeping my spirits light these days. The weather has turned to shit, snow and cold, minus temps as daytime highs! I hate it but Trump is losing his mind right now as we slowly approach election day, so slow it seems! Trump has taken to dancing (extremely terribly) to the Village People at his rallies where thousands of people don't wear masks! Turns out the Sturgis Bike festival may have spawned a surge in virus throughout the upper MidWest and many of us normal folk believe Trump rallies will have the same effect. I was wondering if he is just a Chinese or Russian plant sent here to spawn more virus in the American populace!? Geeze! Trump, with the help of the best Dr's in America, apparently got over corona and is now holding rallies everyday and saying shit like "don't let corona control your life" it only kills old people, it may be sometime in the future but right now it's maddening insanity! The funny part to this story may be that his wife Melania is having a harder time getting over the virus as she practiced only holistic methods, was supposed to be on the campaign trail but is too sick to attend. The other funny part is that the White House event for their religious twit Coney-Barret became a superspreader event, infecting so many people, Senators, most of the Trump staff including KellyAnne Conway and now pundit Chris Christie who I think is lucky to survive this! Such a fat sack of shit! Tomorrow is the last debate, wonder if it will go better than the last? Ha ha, Trump is so mad and off his game he apparently stormed out of a 60 Minutes interview with Leslie Stahl and now claims he has the tape and will release it! WTF!?!?!? All of this will be funny or make for a great movie one day in the future but for now it's as grueling as our shit weather! The US has now had over 227,000 deaths and is expected to just get worse right now so I don't really see a path ahead for trump in this election, he recently said "I might have to leave the country" at a rally and I truly believe this is his intent, he always tells us what he really thinks and with the legal trouble he is in post-presidency this may be his best plan! We found out yesterday that trump has a secret bank account in China, just like my dad who had a secret bank account on the West Coast, this did not go over will with my mom and I'll bet Trumps won't go over well either!!! Where can he go? He needs so much attention so I doubt he would disappear to a small tropical island, France, Russia? LOL who the hell would have him? The French wouldn't ruin a steak the way he wants, he has nowhere to go, Russia is colder than Canada I would love to see the whole Trump family shivering their asses off in Russia!!! I think Biden may win in a landslide, the polls may be wrong in the opposite way this time, unable to count new voters, turns out the more Republicans try cheap chicanery tactics the madder I think especially Black people get and are voting en masse. The entire country is voting like crazy 4 times more than 2016 in the early voting, people are tired of this clown and his handling of the virus! Almost 25 million people have voted already, probably more than all the eligible voters in Canada! It's a lot of interest, a lot of anger!

     There is some confusion around Halloween, our authorities say it can be safe if distance is kept and trick or treating is done outdoors. I think it's too cold at this time of year and still too risky! I usually love Halloween, the costumes, the hot dads with their kids, the leftover candy but I think we should skip it this year. I wonder how bad things will be by Christmas and if my 86 year old mom will survive this, she probably will just to spite us all! I wonder how bad this winter will be? We've already had so much cold and snow, with this trend we may all be buried by December! God, waiting for history to unfold is like slow motion paint drying, I just want to fast forward to the end already!

     

October Surprise!

     October 3rd, my late dads birthday, he would have been 88, we are losing a lot of people from this generation lately notably Ruth Bator Ginsburg. That news was devastating and had me yelling for a least a coupe of days, of course the power hungry GOP want to fill this seat even though last time it was the opposite when we had Obama as President. Only an intervention from God himself can stop this now, more on that later.....

     It has been a hot summer and that has lasted into the fall, it could be because California and the entire West coast have been having unprecedented heat and fires, we have had a few smoky days around here but it has not been bad compared to other years. I had the Calgary Horticultural Society come to film my garden in August, I had signed up for an open garden this year but because of the pandemic they are opting for short videos instead. Since they did not tell me any of this was happening until two days before I was unprepared and not extremely happy with my video, my life is always stupid like this! We also had Gords dads funeral as well as his Aunt Dianes' to be held at the same place and day near the farm in Saskatchewan. What's better than one funeral? Two of course! So my headspace was not exactly on the garden at this time.

     The funerals were totally covid era events, held outdoors in the cemetery of course, with black facemasks. Most of the Saskatchewan relatives were too scared to mingle with us outsiders, most of us including Gords cousins coming from BC and Calgary, Gords sister coming from Ottawa, it was a moderately small affair considering funerals in normal times usually fill the town hall with over 100 people! Gords dad we already said good bye to back in the spring so I got thru that part allright but Aunt Dianes' was so sad, she died at the age of only 70 which is very unfair, mostly I am so sad for these nice people who are her kids and fairly young grandkids, it's just so god damned unfair!!!

     September has been so nice this year, it could be a coming apocalypse as the world heats up beyond human limits? If the world started to burn up uncontrollably I think Canadians would still revel in wearing t-shirts in January, "oh I know the world is ending but it's so mild for the middle of winter" is what most of us would say, lol! Anyway, it is the 3rd of October and we have not even had a light frost yet, I still have most of my houseplants outside, it is more like California than Alberta right now! The grass is fried and brown everywhere but everyone still has all their annuals, it's just gorgeous everyday and the forecast is more of the same!

     So, the big news as of Thursday is that Trump has tested positive for Covid!!! It is just too insane to comprehend with so many implications! Turns out there was likely a "super-spreader event" held at the White House as they announced their Supreme Court pick Amy Coney Barrett. Since most of the GOP are not in the practice of wearing face masks many top GOP idiots have also contracted the virus including Kellyanne Conway and Chris Christie and some prominent GOP Senators. It's so nuts, who knows how this will affect the election? Trump has gone to the hospital because he is a fat asshole who is also 74, a very high risk category indeed! I actually don't want him to die as I would like for him to experience losing the election and get arrested immediately after becoming an ex-president! I would like to know what the Trump cultists who think Covid is all a hoax think about this now!? Trump himself even called Covid a "Democrat hoax", I hope he gets a serious scare. I also think about when Trump, with the help of Russia and the National Enquirer, tried to spread rumours about Hillary's health back in 2016. Most of all I hope this doesn't swing the vote in his direction, who can imagine how this will play out right now??? In a way I also wonder if God really is Jewish and this is all payback for screwing with Ginsberg's legacy on the court, the first woman and Jewish person to lie in state at the Capital.

     Right now we are getting mixed messages from the Dr's one source says he is in critical condition at Bethesda Hospital and this morning another Dr not answering if he is on oxygen now or ever before, always obfuscating lies and misinformation with this guy! If he did die I suppose it would solve a lot of problems, maybe hold up this stupid nomination, would there be a State Funeral right before an election? Who would go? He has pretty much insulted every President both living and dead and deserves zero respect from anyone, the military who he calls "suckers and losers" or the public who he lied to about the dangers of this virus. There is just so much to get into about Trumps recent behavious but you can see this all in the movie one day, we have another gorgeous day and I don't want to waste it typing here all day!

A Pandemic Journal; The Hunger Games Begin

      Mid August, god damn the summer is slipping away! The days are already shorter but we are due for another hot spell at least.The faster time goes the faster we will hopefully be rid of the Trump era, he is doing everything possible to rig the election of course, you were warned back in the Impeachment trial my friends! Trump and his toadie in the US Postal Service are busily trying to hold up the mail and cause distrust just in time for mail in ballots, he even admitted it out loud! Put nothing past this piece of shit! This week Biden announced Kamala Harris as his running mate, it's all very historic, first woman, black and asian too, already Trump is trying to question her citizenship, I tell you this guy has no ideas left! Birtherism is soooo 2014!!!! Aside from racist and sexist attacks however the Republicans have failed to articulate an actual argument against Biden/Harris, all they have is conspiracy theories. And speaking of conspiracy theories over a dozen Q annon believers have won primaries in deep red Republican districts, these people are truly nuts, they believe democrats are satanists who are also cannibals and pedophiles and also hope to execute them all one day! Actually this would put you at odds with hate crime laws in Canada I think!?!? Only one Republican said anything so now I guess they are the party of batshit insanity??? Speaking of batshit insane we recently saw tens of thousands of dipshit bikers gathering for the Sturgis Festival, no masks and even a concert from Smash Mouth, remember this shitty band from the 90's? Yeah, the lead singer was mocking mask wearing. Once again let me just add how foolish this is and really I hope you idiots suffer the consequences, it's just criminal that innocent people are exposed to these fucking retards! It is ridiculous that the beard guy from the CDC say to wear masks on CNN recently the week after this Sturgis nonsense, it is meaningless if there are no mandates in place to restrict such gatherings! America looks like a 3rd world "shithole" right now led by despotic lying idiots!

     As for Canada, the Bloc are busily trying to unseat the PM over this WE Charity scandal, are people into this? Should we have an election during a pandemic and change our government that is doing quite well on the pandemic? I don't think so but I do not have a Quebecois mind, do we always have to be hostage to these nut cases in this country? And in virus news Alberta leads the country in new cases!!!! We're number one!!!! We're number one!!!!! Where is Kenney? I have not heard one comment from him. Don't forget most people are probably sending their kids back to school in a couple of weeks too, this will not go well, I wonder if we will have school by Christmas?

     Next week we are travelling to Saskatchewan for a funeral extravaganza, a formal service for Gords dad and his sister Diane who also died recently, what's better than going  to a funeral? going to two, one right after the other! I don't know if I have the capacity for this much emotion? In one sense it's nice to get away and stay at the lake on the other it's so much family to deal with! Apparently the Saskatchewan folks do not want to come and mingle with us "outsiders" so this will be a strange event at best!

A Pandemic Journal, Midsummer Madness!

     The end of July is giving us some really hot weather and uncharacteristically humid too! Highs of 31 and 65% humidity, it's almost unheard of here, usually hot days are extremely dry here on the Northern Plains. Just a few wacky things of note during this time. Cases are increasing especially in the Calgary area, where a few weeks ago we were boasting 20 to 30 new cases a day we are now up to 130! And yet the charge to get back to school is just as strong as ever before, I think it's nuts but people can't stand their kids so.....
     Trump continues to lose his mind, this week tweeting about moving the election, nice try but I really think people are on to you! Ironically Herman Cain (yes the 9-9-9 guy) died from Covid virus, notable in this story is his attendance at Trumps Oklahoma rally last month, without a mask of course! This also brings the total of black people who support Trump to a number counted on one hand! Also we learned that Republican dip shit Louie Gohmert also tested positive right before flying with Trump, aww too bad! He also believes that wearing a mask gave him the virus, yes this is what stupid people think now! Gaaaaaad. You know I recently watched the Netflix doc about the flat earthers, people who want to believe the world is flat, that it has been a 500 year cover up, what for? they don't know either. Not bad as modern docs go, there is a segment where astronaut Mark Kelly says that while believing in a flat earth may be innocuous the disbelief in science could have detrimental effects one day, as this was filmed before 2020 I think we now see where this internet nonsense has led especially Americans! We have a few nuts in Canada too but for the most part I think our leaders follow science not these horseshit theories from internetlandia! I am just waiting for the day Trump gets covid, you'll hear me laughing all day!
     Civil rights leader John Lewis was buried this week, eulogized beautifully by President Obama who also eloquently slammed Trump who was too scared to show up of course. Hurricane Isaias bears down on Florida, pretty early for hurricanes I'd say and really everyone should be asking "is there a plan?" the virus will love people huddled in shelters. For some reason weather broadcasters everywhere are trying to pronounce it "Is-e-a-us" rather than what obviously looks like "I-zay-us" as in Isiah from the Bible. Even if it were a Spanish pronunciation it would be more like "E-say-as" so I don't know what the hell these people are on about!?!? Expect many more hurricanes this year, yet another area for the dip-shit in chief to fuck up again!!!
    Sports is trying to make a come back with hockey beginning in Edmonton this week and baseball having some some problems like the players keep contracting covid, but hey lets open schools in 4 weeks!?!?
Well, back to the heat, I think we're really going to miss this summer before the virus comes raging back in the fall!

A Pandemic Journal, No Signs of Ending

     So, several months into this the virus is rebounding almost everywhere. Of course the US hasn't slowed down once, they are currently up to 4 million, apparently the situation is so dangerous that the RNC has to be cancelled but Trump still wants to open schools, will Americans notice this stupidity? I don't remember if I talked about this earlier but Trump is trying to stop the CDC from collecting data and redirect it to a DC department, America takes one more step towards becoming China or some such "shithole" country, along with using unmarked police to tear gas, arrest and detain people in Portland Oregon, including protesting moms, things are really getting bad in the worlds greatest democracy! On top of all that unemployment benefits are due to run out at the end of the month and Senate Republicans think this is the time to take a vacation! No wonder Biden is up 10 to 15 points in the polls! Let me just add that during this period Trump thought it important to remove the portraits of Bill Clinton and George W. from a public foyer in the White House and replace them with Teddy Roosevelt and William McKinley, WTF? The last guy was assassinated, why bring up a "loser" of history like this? So many weird things going on as Trump spirals into self pity. Ironically Dr. Fauci is becoming a superstar in the media, more popular in spades over Trump, he threw out the first pitch in the covid era Major League Baseball thing, I dont follow sports I guess this is important?. Also of note the baseball players took a knee in support of Black Lives Matter all of this ought to burn Trumps ass!!! I hope it bothers him as much as the giant Black Lives Matter painted on 5th Ave in front of Trump tower NY. Ha ha!
     Meanwhile in Canada cases are ticking up as they are in many places around the world, like Tokyo and Europe, countries that were once doing very well are now seeing more cases. Actually Alberta is taking the lead in Canada right now so lets go ahead with opening schools! Calgary is seeing a three fold increase in cases mostly in the 20-30 something age group. I guess the right wing idiots of this world still think the economy is more important than peoples health, people can't get back to work until their kids get back to school. Many parents complain they cannot handle their kids and are desperate to get them back in school. Really? If you can't stand them then imagine how the rest of us feel!?!?! Geeze!
     As global totals close in on 16 million this thing shows no signs of stopping soon. Just like the god damned hail storms that keep wrecking destruction on my garden we are at the mercy of nature!

A Pandemic Journal, Will Stupid Run It's Course???

     In 2019 my favourite and yes, still active, British synth duo The Pet Shop Boys released the song, "Lets Give Stupidity A Chance" a satire of Brexit politics and direct jab at Trump. The lyrics just become more and more poignant as the Pandemic wears on; "Intelligent people have had their say, time for the foolish to show the way." "We've heard quite enough of experts and their dealings, why face the facts when you can feel the feelings?" And this is why a band who formed over 30 years ago is more relevant than any of the kids today who sing about what? Their face tattoos? It seems quite fitting that these lyrics are reflecting reality as Trump is actively trying to derail Dr. Anthony Fauci, now claiming there are two sides to factual science. Really! Yes this is the first time in history that a President has actively tried to and may likely fire Americas leading Dr. on infectious diseases.The Trump administration is actually conducting opposition research on Fauci, I guess because Trump still thinks this is a messaging battle and not a life and death situation? Such is the US right now, Trump has cancelled his New Hampshire rally recently and Disney World is reopening as Florida cases surge into the stratosphere, it is widely reported that if Florida were it's own country it would be 4th among countries right now!
In a stupidly ironic moment a 30 year old American who attended a "Covid Party" (where attendees try to contract the virus and win a pot of money if first) apparently says to a nurse on his death bed " I think I made a mistake, I thought it was a hoax but  it is not" Ahhh the omnipotence of youth! This is the effect of a generation raised without consequences I guess!?
     As cases surge into the tens of thousands daily across the US the Presidents popularity is dropping even falling behind Biden in Texas, Florida and Arizona, all covid hot spots. And still these dummies are now pushing for kids to get back to school! I already saw a protest of parents blocking school buses in Detroit as summer school is set to start (?) I just can't see how people will willingly endanger their kids and families for the sake of this stupid administration, and really, sending out Betsy Devos to say in her Mayor of South Park accent that schools should reopen yet there is no actual plan if the virus starts getting out of control is just more stupid icing on this cake! This ding-a-ling woman who is a rich Republican donor has no business running her estates' landscaping let alone the Department of Education! So much ineptitude by this administration but what did you expect?
     Locally there are too many summer crowds at local lakes and last night I went out to see the Stampede fireworks only to find myself surrounded by crowds! It's all still too dangerous, I tried to duck the crowds as best as I could but I still couldn't believe the mini traffic jam along 8th Ave NE! My neighbours are returning to work soon, at different times but people are getting back to normal, no more bloody outdoor exercise routines! Yay! I still believe there will be 2nd wave by they fall probably worse than the first one (this is what experts say) and unlike the stupid President I listen to experts!

A Pandemic Journal, July is Really Heating Up!

     Early July and the pandemic in certain countries is going nuts. In an awesome turn of events piece of shit and worst human in modern history Bolsonero of Brazil has contracted the virus! Yay! I hope it's very serious! He is still promoting hydroxychloroquine, the drug touted by Trump as a cure for covid, it doesn't work, I hope it kills him. The Amazon is burning while this guy is busily helping the virus take over his country, firing medical experts, stopping the counting of cases and so much more!
Florida cases are going crazy as well now the concern is running out of hospital beds all over the states, it is becoming a big crisis. Now I hear that my in-laws are buying a place in Florida but the funny part is that my mother-in-law finds the whole idea "disgusting" lol, I'm with ya there!!!! What an utterly ridiculous idea right now, you won't even be able to go there until who knows when, maybe not this winter, geeze! Well the brother-in-law loves his republican ideas so enjoy the effects dummy, no sympathy from me! Also my neighbours have abandoned plans to move to Spain, they don't want to experience it in lockdown, I know, the whole world is ruined now isn't it!? In another hilarious turn of events the European Union is allowing some international visitors including Canada but not the US!!!! I know this will weigh heavily on their conscience, Americans don't like being left out, declared too dangerous like Brazil and Russia to travel. I thought this would happen, but for different reasons, maybe for being racist know-nothing loudmouths! It is important to note here that Trump is travelling to Florida not to talk about the virus but to talk about drug smuggling, don't put yourself in covids way oh wise orange one! He is also beating the drum of making schools open this fall, probably another stupid idea that the public will hate. I truly believe that as this virus affects more and more people the chances of Trump being reelected dwindle, they don't want to wear masks how about forcing your kids go to school?, good one Trump!
     I have just heard that Toronto and Ottawa are making masks mandatory in public, like in a by-law way. So I hope my Republican loving in-laws enjoy that! LOL, I think they should be mandatory everywhere!
We hear more and more that this virus is effecting people in the 20-40 year old range, if you ask me we could get rid of half this generation and the world would be a better place! Awww who will watch Tiger King or Floor Is Lava?
     I probably haven't mentioned here that young people in the US have been having covid parties, betting who will get covid first out of these large gatherings, this is a real thing! This is how stupid young Americans are why mandatory mask wearing is probably where this is all headed.
It just seems like the US could be headed down a path to total crisis, hospitals will fill up, people will die en masse and Republican dip shit Governors are going to have to defend their stupid decisions that led everyone here, I really don't see a way out politically especially for king dip shit Trump!
     I still want to know how and why Alberta tried testing hydroxychloroquine and how it was quietly  pulled from  Alberta Health trial testing, no one mentioned it when the UN and WHO declared it dangerous and the medical community ceased touting this drug all together. Huh, funny that? Our stupid conservative led local media didn't say one thing???

A Pandemic Journal, Happy Canada Day, 4th of July

     Ahhh Summer national holidays! And really a tale of two countries, one with a strong Federal Government and national health care the other led by a dangerously stupid narcissist delegating all responsibility down the line. Canada like the other normal democracies has bent the curve and reopening carefully as cases decline, cases in Canada this week just over 100,000 now compare to the US who stands at over 3 million! Turns out Texas, Florida and especially Republican states are showing a huge uptick in cases mostly due to stupidity! In Florida where cases have exploded to 100,000 in a week, over 3,000 cases daily, the angry bug up his ass- Desantis insists the growth in cases is due to more testing, echoing the dip shit in chief Trump and is also blaming young people. Well, I also blame young people but who cares? Blame is not helping anything, make people wear masks!!!
     Canada Day was a low key affair with a message from the PM and no celebrations, compare to Trumps 4th of July corona-palooza events! In a life imitating art moment Trump is like something out of a South Park episode where Cartman has decided that more people should get the virus and cause a forest fire while also insulting all minorities prompting more rioting in the streets. On Friday Trump goes to Mount Rushmore to hold a rally with people crammed together not wearing masks, have fireworks in a normally fire restricted forest and basically insult all minorities, happy 4th everyone, hope y'all get the virus! It does not help that the Governor of South Dakota is also like some made up character with the accent of the South Park Mayor and the looks and personality of a FOX News beauty! Sheesh! We already know that 8 Secret Service members contracted covid in Arizona on the trip with Pence and Pepe The Frog lookalike Kimberly Gilfoyle (Trump Jr. girlfriend) contracted covid as well. These people attending these rallies not taking precautions are fools and they are asking for it. My question is how long will it take for cases to explode from this BS and Trump has to cancel his rallies prompting him to god knows what juvenile reaction!?!?! The contrast between Trump and normal leaders is the belief in science, Trump does not want to believe facts, as right wing pundit David Frum said recently "he is affected by magical thinking" he does not want to believe reality it's what crashed his stupid businesses and it is killing Americans right now and will kill more. Right now Biden has a 12 point national lead in the polls and we hear Republicans are panicking, oh well, you created this monster you deal with the fallout!!!
     As for young people, I overheard a young man recently bragging about how he follows the rules in public but not in private and I believe this is the attitude of most young people. This generation all won medals remember and never had to sacrifice anything so I think mask wearing should be mandatory in public, it's very simple and will help. Do you want to have some semblance or normality or go down the path of stupidville USA????
     Well, it's supposed to be Stampede time in Calgary but it is cancelled of course, I miss the nightly fireworks however the dog does not, but I miss the fun energy in a way too. At least we don't have a beach, just seeing on TV all the footage of Americans flocking to the beach, it's stupid!
     A curious thing happened all across America on the 4th of July, thousands of fireworks in every city across the nation. Now we know Americans love the 4th and fireworks but just the sheer number of them as we saw in a shot of the L.A. skyline must have deeper meaning. It is a sign of the times and I think shows deeper feelings about the virus, the stupid President, where the country is going etc. these are crazy times don't ignore spontaneous public displays.

A Pandemic Journal, Shitstorms 2,3, 4 and Beyond!

     OK so last time was not my best work. Turned out we had two more hail storms in the span of one week, as soon as anything was going to grow back it got nailed again, from another direction. I have just had it with living here but how can we do anything with a god damned pandemic going on??? How can we move or sell the house? Shiiiiit! Now we are experiencing a prolonged cold rainy spell as a huge low pressure system sets up a blocking pattern, meanwhile in Siberia, the Russian arctic temperatures are hitting 38C or 100 degrees if you want to go that way.
     Turns out most of the US is experiencing a huge uptick in virus cases and I believe we are headed that way too as everyone is acting like we are back to normal. I chalk it up to Canadians believe and follow their governments even the stupid Kenny idiots, he said it was no worse than the flu at the end of May and proceeded to open everything up thus everyone acts like we are in normal times. It's funny tho that oil workers are not back at work ( they are busy exercising in their back yards every day!) but everyone else should be back at work? Geeeeeze, even Gord is very busy these days and I have to drive him around all the time. People in general are just not doing the 6 foot distance thing anymore, wearing masks or practicing any of the suggested measures. Also turns out the Verve Condo downtown has a local outbreak with 50 some cases in one building, I thought this could happen and I think we will be back up to peak levels by the fall.
    We are seeing huge outbreaks in Florida and Texas but also most states not in the NE, who saw that coming? Well, many people including myself and I have an Art degree not a medical one!!!! Trump and Pence have been travelling around trying to hold mass spreader events as they say. His Tulsa rally was a flop and some think it was teens on social media site TikTok booking tickets but I actually think people are just smarter than this, will not attend mass rallies or are tired of this dip shit idiot. trump did hold a rally of sorts in a mega church in Arizona with a youth group, kids for racism I guess??? They did not have masks and all look like 19 year old twits, who has even seen a gathering of this size since the winter??? Pence also had some event in a church of course with a live choir, one of the things we specifically know spreads virus, mainly singing or talking loudly. Cripes. Now we also see many Republican Senators backtracking on opening up and trying to wear masks in public. Mask wearing has now become a political issue of course in the US. There are still many idiots who are shouting down officials or making ludicrous statements based on stupid conspiracy theories from facebook. I was banned from facebook for 20 some days because I said something mean about white Americans and now I hope to never go back, they are a true evil in this world! If that's how you treat people then good luck, nice business model! The only good part is that hopefully Americans have had it with this dip shit idiot as President. The latest scandal is that Russia was offering a bounty on US soldiers in Afghanistan and the President was briefed on this in March (which he denies of course) and did nothing. I think we know Trump hates the military and Americans and owes Putin and maybe the public is finally realizing this, his denials are too too much!!!
     I hear we have really bent the curve in Canada like all the sensible countries but I still think everything is going too fast on reopening, Airlines are filling up planes, no middle seat space, for people flying to I don't know where? Where is there to go? Who wants to travel? My sister -in-law bought a condo in Florida recently, or is in the process of, the best part is that my mother-in-law thinks it "disgusting" to want to live in Florida! Ha ha, my thoughts exactly! The dip shit husband is who loves this stupid place and is friends with Republicans, oh well find out how much everyone in the family respects this stupidity! How are they even going to sign the deal or use the place? The borders are closed and will probably remain that way as Florida becomes the new hot spot, now mainly infecting people in the 30 to 49 year range, stupid millennials, thinking they are immune. I think we are having a memorial for Gords dad at the end of August, it may be nice to get away actually if you can believe me saying that! I think everyone would be fine if we all wore masks but I would say about 10% of people do. I hear Calgarians on TV saying shit like "I think we're doing a really good job" really? I don't! No one is social distancing anymore, no one is wearing a mask, people are too close in all situations, bloody jogging and cycling everywhere too close and look at our local outbreak! I think Calgarians are fucking self involved idiots and we will see how this goes!
     Canada day looks like a washout, Wednesday, what the fuck kind of holiday is midweek? Hopefully back to summer by the weekend but everytime we have hot weather we get storms, it's very stressful for me, there have been many meltdowns on my behalf, I even said "I wish it wasn't summer" or "Who wants to live anymore!?" it's been hell for sure!

A Pandemic Journal, Shitstorm

     OK everything is making me furious at every turn. Right now I just wrote an entry which somehow got published to my other garden blog which I had to delete form there and now I have lost all my work!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to throw my computer out the window right now!!!!!!!!!!!WTF???????
So let me just write the entire fucking thing again and I will miss my lunch! FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had a huge hail storm which ruined everything in the garden, my heart is broken and I am angry and sad! It destroyed the entire fucking NE of the city with torrents of rain and hail. I tried to replace some plants but can't because this city is just mediocre shit. I am replanting the vegetable gardens but now it is just torrents of rain so who knows if we can even have a season now? All we get is shit for weather, I just want to give up on the whole season!
Trump remains an idiot of course, trying to hold a rally in Oklahoma which people are calling a mass spreader event, who cares I hope he dies as well as his stupid followers too! Ahh fuck it who even cares? I am so pissed off, there is nothing to do, the garden is destroyed and I jjust lost my entire post and I hate typing on this shit computer! I hate everything right now and am hungry and have just wasted an hour and a half fucking around with this stupid blogger thing! FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A Pandemic Journal, Trump Hides Millions Cried

     So how did the riots go? Turned out Trump made it worse that very night I last wrote here and the marching in the streets is still going on almost 2 weeks since the murder of George Floyd. I've never been to Washington D.C. but apparently Lafayette Park is a place where people often gather in front of the White House and that Monday night there was a peaceful protest which got tear gassed under the apparent direction of Attorney General Bill Barr to stage a bizarre photo op for Trump. They cleared this park with tear gas and military like force which was also filmed by several journalists so Trump could walk out of the White House to the Episcopal Church across the street to hold a Bible upside down and stand there like the hemorrhoid on History that he is. I haven't gotten too much into the weeds on this one but I have heard Evangelicals are no fan of the Episcopal Bible or the teachings of this church in particular so hope that goes well for him too! Turned out to be perhaps the worst photo op of modern times (since Mission Accomplished perhaps) and certainly one of the worst moments in this stupid Presidency! Apparently Trump, Melania, and Barron were hiding in the White House bunker which got leaked to the media which made Trump nuts, since they have been trying to tag Biden with "hiding in his basement" so he had to get out because he always has to act so tough because of his masculinity issues. But it has been leaked and I think the idea of him hiding in the White House will stick, people had been noticing the blacked out White House looking like the Haunted Mansion recently and in the days after this stupid stunt a very tall and cement based fence was erected around the "People's House" nice. Later Trump tried to lie that he was just "inspecting" the bunker and if you believe this well you must already have drunk the kool-aid!? This only enraged more people to take to the streets everywhere, and I mean everywhere from Los Angeles to small town Montana and everywhere else in the US too. So many terrible images come from these riots, a CNN reporter who is also black was arrested live on the air with the camera crew who just put the cameras on the ground, an Australian crew also assaulted by police on live TV, who cares about the 1st Amendment anymore? Several more very brutal assaults on protesters by police all caught on camera now many of these officers are being charged, it just seems everywhere the police just make their case worse and America looks like China cracking down on it's people! In several cases the military or something like it is brought in, making America look more like a brutal regime, an image of the Lincoln Memorial surrounded by armed military looks more like something from the 80's movie Red Dawn and I think will haunt Americans for a long time! Even more disturbingly is these guys who look sorta military yet have no identifying credentials and will not tell people who they are, one of them said "from the Justice Department" others have said "Corrections" it's pretty creepy and makes one wonder if this is another brain child of Bill Barr? What kind of country has secret police who are accountable to god knows who following who's orders? I think we know the answer! So as Trump tries to descend into nutcase dictator territory the charges against the police who murdered Floyd are upped, for the main cop it is now 2nd degree murder. There are 3 funerals for Floyd this week the last one featuring a message from Joe Biden who always knows what to say in these situations, because he has empathy, and also quotes from the Bible which I think is a pretty telling contrast to Trump who doesn't even know how to hold one! Don't be surprised though Trump doesn't understand how umbrellas work either! It's a huge contrast in the Presidential contenders and I think Trump will lose this one, already we see support crumbling for him in many areas of the population, the elderly and the white men college and non college. People are tired of the brutality, the lying, and just the evilness of this reality TV show idiot who accidentally became President.
     So how's that pandemic going? Geeze is seems soooo last week already! One wonders if the thousands of protesters everywhere will spread the virus, probably, but the racism cause is de rigueur with this generation it seems! We even have large protests in Canada especially Montreal ( probably because the French are assholes to everyone not a white French Catholic) but even in Calgary, I think it's too many people all crowded together in Olympic Plaza but racism! Yes I know I am not black and do not know what that experience is like but I am guessing that since we are an officially Multicultural country with a completely different history than the US and approach to policing that being a minority here is not as bad as many other countries!?!?  Keep in mind before condemning me that I experienced many homophobic moments in my life and I would say to many straight people who think we are past all that that you do not know what it is like. I was enjoying the black comedian Amber Ruffin on Seth Meyers' show relay stories of being black while encountering police some of them maybe not so funny but I have almost as many as a gay man dealing with police in my life too! We have come a long way baby! But for you.....??? I hope it gets better for everyone one day, the police brutality on display is always enraging, they are public servants after all!!! Anyway, Alberta is opening up under the direction of Kenney, everything from day care to swimming pools to casinos and movie theaters are open. I just think this is exactly what happened in the Spanish Flu of 1919, everyone relaxed in the summer and it came back even worse that fall/winter! Since we do not have even a treatment we should be concerned it will come back but the attitude out there is that everything is getting back to normal, oh boi! I think we could get semi-normal if everyone just wore a mask, this is what we learned from Korea and other Asian countries but most people do not wear them, the good vibes of summer have got everyone feelin' fine!!!!
     In the world the top virus countries are still the USA, Brazil, Russia and the UK, all led by idiot dictator types. Brazil says it will just stop counting cases so that should help that problem! India has only 200,00+ cases but they also have a nationalist asshole PM so I'd take that number with a grain of salt! In the US cases are still on the rise in many states and how bad will it get after all the partying rednecks in the Ozarks and all these protests? I wonder if the police will be hit hard too? I really don't see a lot of precautions on either side of the protests.
     The days are so nice now I don't really want to think about the larger world most days, the scent of lilacs, the brilliant green leaves and the many other flowers keep me busy now.
